British Pie Awards 2018

Following last years insightful experience at the British Pie Awards, the sisterhood were delighted to be invited back to judge again at this years event.

How does it work?

Pie judgement is split into six categories – totalling 100 points. Appearance, Bake, Pastry Thickness, Pastry Taste and Texture, Amount of Filling, and Filling Taste and Texture are tested, with point being deducted for… The top three pies are given… as well as scored over 70 being categorised as a bronze, silver or gold standard of pie.

This year we judged Chicken and Vegetable, Steak and Ale and Lamb. Find out how we got on by watching the video below

Shay Stadium

On the 22nd of February, Sister Jess and her mum Karen vlogged their experience at the Shay Stadium, Halifax. They watched Halifax Town play Hartlepool United.

Blackpool’s undefeated run was extended to seven games following their home fixture win against Oxford United.

Sisters Jessica and Katie travelled up to Blackpool on the 16th of September to watch some seaside football and have a pie. Check out what they got up to:

Pie Rating: 1/5

AJ Bell Stadium

Following two Premiership defeats in their opening games of the new domestic season, Friday’s fixture against London Irish saw Sale Sharks look to secure a home win.

The entire sisterhood, with the addition of volunteer pie taster Jack attended the match with one thing on their minds… Pies.

Despite numerous failures to locate pies at Rugby stadia, the AJ Bell stadium did not disappoint – with Pukka Pies on offer.

For a small price of £3, our chosen pies were Steak, Meat and Potato, Chicken Balti

Pie Rating – 2.5/5

Wimbledon 2017

This year, sister Jess was lucky enough to go check out the Tennis and (most importantly) the food at the All England Club. Check out what she got up to on PieTube:

Pie Wars – Holland’s V Pukka Pies

With the football break well and truly underway, depravation of first rate fixtures left us with no option but to create an encounter of our own… Holland’s v Pukka Pies.

Pie Awards 2017

Helloooo Sisters!

As you know, this week we were invited to attend the British Pie Awards and judge some of the fantastic pies that had been entered into the competition.

Instead of writing a blog on this we decided to video log the experience so you can see what it was like to be a judge. You can find the video on our PieTube at:

Many thanks to Pierate for getting us involved and everyone involved with making the British Pie Awards happen.
